Source Impedance for Voltage and GPR Energizations in MALZ and HIFREQ

Energizations in MALZ and HIFREQ now include associated source impedances for Voltage and GPR energizations. The Source Inductance and Source Capacitance fields also include a handy reactance to inductance or capacitance converter.

Example Image

Note that Lead impedances in MALZ are still available and still function the same way it has in the past, as does of course the lumped impedance commonly used in HIFREQ to define source impedances.

In the next version of SES Software, this new capability allows for a direct import of the open-circuit voltages and source impedances described in Section 3 of this article, as well as the total fault current.

Example Image
Import the shield wire return equivalent energizations and the total fault current from
FCDIST into the SESCAD Energizations table by clicking on the Import button,
selecting the desired FCDIST F21 results file, and clicking Open.
